Interested in joining our team?

We are a fun, interactive, and humane traveling petting zoo operating out of the Washington DC area. We pride ourselves in offering a safe, organized, atmosphere for people of all ages to learn and relate to animals without the need for ownership. We lead fun and educational birthday parties and events for children and adults alike.

Our zoos are primarily on the weekends, though part-time weekday positions may also be available.

TEAM MEMBER EXPECTATIONS:

  • Provide “epic customer service.” Being outgoing, humorous, friendly and a strong age-appropriate communicator are  top priorities

  • Have a cheerful and out-going personality

  • Interact with customers of all ages in a way that fosters empathy, curiosity, and confidence

  • Be knowledgeable about our animals and related topics

  • Establish and enforce rules for behavior, and procedures for maintaining order

  • Monitor safety and well being of all animals and participants

  • Be prepared for outdoor and indoor work environment

  • Drive safely with hands free mobile device directions

  • Responsible for delivery, set-up, and clean-up 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a reliable car (4-door sedan or larger with working heat/air conditioning) and clean driving record. A copy of insurance and valid driver's license must be given before training

  • Must have an iPhone or Android smartphone with access to Google Maps and hands free device for car

  • Punctual and prepared

  • Self-starter, able to work independently or with little direction

  • Friendly demeanor, must enjoy being around people of all ages

  • Excellent communication skills, able to work within a team

  • Able to reach, bend and lift up to 25 pounds

  • Able to work on your feet for long periods of time

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Children, Entertainment Field or Related Customer Service Experience

  • Experience and comfort handling animals

  • Experience and comfort in working outdoors

  • Knowledge of, aptitude for, and enthusiasm for learning basic natural history/zoology/ecology concepts and teaching them to others

  • Availability to work weekends.  (Weekday work may also be available! Please let us know if you’re interested). Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Preference will be given to those able to work more hours.  
     

COMPENSATION:

Starting pay is $15 - $17 per hour plus gas reimbursement for every event you drive animals or supplies to. Our team members often receive tips for excellent service which is kept 100% by you.
