Therapy Events | Animal Therapy

Animal therapy can significantly enhance various aspects of patient health. With this in mind, we offer specialized therapeutic interaction programs designed for patients. Our mobile petting zoo brings the comfort and healing benefits of animal interactions to healthcare facilities, providing a soothing and uplifting experience. Our programs are tailored to meet the unique needs of patients, promoting emotional well-being, reducing stress, and improving overall health through the gentle and comforting presence of our animals.

BRING THE JOY AND COMFORT OF ANIMALS TO YOUR PATIENTS

Our USDA certified animals provide therapeutic interactions for all patients, whether in acute care, assisted living, hospice or short-term rehabilitation. Let us provide a special program for your patients. Ask about our multiple-event discounts. We would love to support your facility on a monthly or quarterly basis!

HOW WE RUN OUR PROGRAM

Attendees sit in your facility’s comfortable chairs or their personal wheelchairs. Depending on level and comfort, patients have the option to either pet animals held by helpers or hold animals on their laps. One of our knowledgeable Squeals On Wheels team members will to talk to everyone about how to pet and hold the animals as well as give interesting facts and information about them. Our two nurse practitioners and speech therapist on our staff have worked closely with each team member to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all. This program is rain or shine and perfect inside or outside!

Why Animal Therapy?

Animal therapy can improve a patient’s social, emotional and cognitive functioning as well as increase a patient’s motivation and participation within their functional living environment. Unlike people, with whom our interactions are often very complex and unpredictable, animals provide a constant source of comfort and focus for attention. Animals bring out our nurturing instinct and make us feel safe and unconditionally accepted. People’s communicative intent as well as psychosocial and physical well being has been shown to increase around animals!
